iiiiiiiiiit’s Super List Saturday!
Ancient to Medieval is my JAM.
ALL THE ART HISTORY!!! *~*~*~JULIA STYLE*~*~
Enjoy!
(this will probably be a pt.1 of 3….)
Here it is! ”Frizzante Limoncello Soda”… I would personally love some right now! Too bad it’s a made up product.
This was a totally different project from what I’m used to, it was quite a challenge but I handled it well, I think. Some areas of my project are overdesigned… but nobody said design was easy! I still really like my topiary figures :)
WIP! Working on comps and color comps at the same time! This is the main image for a 6 pack, and I’ll be doing a label too, and maybe some topiary ladies for an advertisement (because I’m crazy and they were cut from my first round of comps!)
There’s so much to think about when working on package designs. I’ve been looking at the dieline for inspiration, the designs featured on that site will forever put me to shame.
Final art will come soon :) What do you think so far?

DON’T MAKE THIS WEIRD
9 years ago I went on a trip to Italy with my grandmother. She frequently takes trips around the world with her friends and normally these trips are adults only. I thought I was going to be the only one my age, but a younger family went.. they had three boys.
The “middle boy”, Stephen, went to the same junior high as me and was a grade ahead of me. I had seen him around at my school, during p.e. or lunch goofing off with his friends.
I was embarrassed by anything and everything during those pre-teen years, and I remember avoiding him like the plague on that trip. I hung out with his family most of the time, and sat with them at dinner. His older brother was very nice and hilarious, and his younger brother (who was about 7 or 8) stole everybody’s attention.
We were also both really quiet, I don’t think I talked much while on the trip. I definitely did not talk to Stephen, which was probably a good thing because I probably always had some sort of antipasto stuck in between my hot pink braces.
One afternoon my grandmother realized she left her umbrella and asked Stephen to “escort” me to our room so I could get it for her. I don’t even know why, but I was mortified. I remember telling him “You don’t have to do this, it’s really ok, I’ll be fine by myself, she’s crazy”. But he was so nice about it and and went up with me in the elevator anyway and waited for me outside our room so I could grab the umbrella.
I still remember every detail about those 10 minutes because I was that freaked out, which is completely absurd because he was being SO nice about it. But then again I was an anti-social 12 year old girl and that’s what I did best..
Good news is on the last few days of the trip we found common interests in Lord of the Rings and Dragon Ball Z. I should mention that we started dating a few years later in High School. I should also mention that our 6 year anniversary is TODAY! :)
(Special thanks to my good friend Victoria VerHagen for photographing this illo for me!)
